Aston Martin has officially expanded its performance ambitions beyond four wheels with the unveiling of the AMB 002 Roadster, its first motorcycle designed and approved for public-road use.
Created in partnership with historic motorcycle manufacturer Brough Superior, the new machine combines Aston Martin's distinctive design language with Brough Superior's specialist engineering and handcrafted manufacturing.
The AMB 002 represents the latest chapter in a partnership that began in 2019 with the track-only AMB 001. Unlike its predecessors, however, the new motorcycle is built to be ridden on public roads while retaining the exclusivity and performance expected from both brands.
Aston Martin Finally Takes Its Motorcycle Project to the Road
Although the AMB 002 is Aston Martin's first road-legal motorcycle, it is not the automaker's first motorcycle project.
The original AMB 001 debuted in 2019 as a limited-production track motorcycle. It was followed by the even more powerful AMB 001 Pro in 2022. Both machines were created exclusively for circuit use and were never intended to be registered for public roads. Aston Martin's earlier AMB 001 was limited to 100 examples and featured a 997cc turbocharged V-twin producing 180 horsepower.
The AMB 002 changes that formula by combining the extreme design of the earlier motorcycles with engineering intended for everyday road riding.
Aston Martin Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman described the project as a long-term ambition, saying the companies wanted to create a motorcycle for the road after producing their earlier track-focused machines.
A Powerful 1,083cc V-Twin Engine
At the center of the AMB 002 is a newly developed 1,083cc water-cooled V-twin engine. Depending on the source's measurement convention, output is reported at approximately 128 to 130 horsepower, with torque reaching about 81 lb-ft.
Rather than focusing purely on peak performance, Brough Superior has engineered the engine to provide strong low- and mid-range torque and smoother power delivery. That approach is particularly important for a motorcycle intended for public roads, where controllability and usable performance can be more important than outright track performance.
The engine is housed within a highly unusual titanium structural frame that is machined from a solid billet. The frame weighs only about 11 pounds, helping contribute to the motorcycle's low overall mass.
The AMB 002 has a curb weight of roughly 419 pounds, according to Car and Driver, giving it an impressive power-to-weight ratio for a road-going motorcycle.
Titanium and Carbon Fiber Keep Weight Down
Weight reduction is a major part of the AMB 002's engineering philosophy.
Brough Superior has used extensive carbon fiber throughout the motorcycle, including its bodywork and fuel tank. The combination of carbon fiber and titanium allows the motorcycle to remain relatively light while providing the rigidity required for high-performance riding.
The titanium frame also helps create a claimed 50:50 weight distribution, which Aston Martin and Brough Superior say contributes to the bike's stability and handling.
The result is a motorcycle that is as much an engineering showcase as it is a transportation machine.
Unusual Front Suspension Targets Better Handling
One of the AMB 002's most distinctive technical features is its front suspension.
Instead of conventional telescopic forks, the motorcycle uses Brough Superior's Fior double-wishbone front suspension. The design separates steering and suspension functions and is intended to improve stability while reducing front-end dive during heavy braking.
The arrangement is part of Brough Superior's broader approach to motorcycle engineering and gives the AMB 002 a visual identity that is immediately different from conventional superbikes.
Combined with the motorcycle's low center of gravity and balanced weight distribution, the suspension system is designed to provide a precise and stable riding experience on winding roads.
Aston Martin Design Meets Brough Superior Craftsmanship
The motorcycle's appearance was developed with significant involvement from Aston Martin's design team, including Reichman.
Several details connect the AMB 002 to Aston Martin's sports and hypercar lineup. The company's familiar side-strake design appears on the motorcycle's fairing, while the rear lighting incorporates visual cues associated with Aston Martin's high-performance cars.
The twin exhaust outlets also feature a ribbed design inspired by details found on models such as the Vanquish, DB12 S and DBX S. Carbon-fiber bodywork and aggressive side vents give the motorcycle a futuristic appearance while helping manage airflow and engine cooling.
Rather than simply placing an Aston Martin badge on an existing motorcycle, the companies have created a machine designed to visually connect the two brands.
Just 300 Motorcycles Will Be Built
Exclusivity is another major part of the AMB 002's appeal.
Aston Martin and Brough Superior plan to produce just 300 examples worldwide, with each motorcycle individually built at Brough Superior's facility in Toulouse, France. The company specializes in small-volume, high-end motorcycles and has experience combining traditional craftsmanship with modern CNC machining and advanced materials.
Orders are already being accepted, while first customer deliveries are expected in the third quarter of 2027.
Pricing has been reported at around €120,000 before taxes and transportation, although buyers in different markets will ultimately pay different amounts depending on local taxes and costs.
A New Direction for Aston Martin
The AMB 002 Roadster gives Aston Martin something its previous motorcycle projects could not: a motorcycle that can legally leave the racetrack and enter public roads.
With its 1,083cc V-twin, titanium frame, carbon-fiber construction, unconventional suspension and Aston Martin-inspired styling, the AMB 002 is positioned as a highly exclusive performance machine rather than a conventional mass-market motorcycle.
Its limited 300-unit production run also ensures that ownership will remain restricted to a small group of collectors and enthusiasts.
For Aston Martin and Brough Superior, the AMB 002 is more than another collaboration. It is the culmination of several years of experimentation on two wheels—and a significant step toward making the Aston Martin name part of the road-going motorcycle world.
